Spent Fuel Storage

JAI has provided spent fuel storage related services to the nuclear industry since 1974.

With the formal cessation of commercial reprocessing activities in the U.S. in the 1970s, and the absence of an available capability for disposal of spent nuclear fuel, the demand for spent fuel storage capacity has been increasing steadily. Moreover, such demand for storage capacity has also increased in the rest of the world inasmuch as many countries are no longer reprocessing spent fuel for economic reasons and no other disposal capability is currently available.
