Shipping and Storage Cask Data for Commercial Spent Nuclear Fuel
(JAI-582, March 2005, 252 pp.).
Per copy price includes shipping and handling
Domestic $150.00, Foreign $175.00 (U.S. Dollars)
This publication provides a comprehensive and detailed look at storage and transport casks and systems for spent nuclear fuel generated by civilian nuclear power plants in the U.S. and in some foreign countries. It contains data on 7 different canistered storage/transport systems; 20 storage only and dual-purpose casks; and 14 transport casks.
This publication is the most complete book to date discussing currently available technologies for the safe storage and transportation of spent nuclear fuel. Data includes information such as cask dimensions, weights, types of fuel that can be transported or stored, thermal capacities, materials of construction, licensing status and other useful information in one complete source!
JAI Spent Fuel and High Level Waste Transportation Cost Model©
Spent Nuclear Fuel and High-Level Radioactive Waste Transportation Cost Model©
Per copy price includes shipping and handling
Domestic $200.00, Foreign $210.00 (U.S. Dollars)
JAI Corporation has developed and released a Spent Nuclear Fuel and High-Level Radioactive Waste Transportation Cost Model© on Compact Disc (CD). This model was developed to allow users to estimate the cost of transportation of spent fuel and high-level radioactive waste in the U.S., by truck or rail, for a wide variety of conditions. Use of the model requires the inputting of a variety of scenarios and cost information. In the absence of any single input, the model uses a default value - the origin of which is described in the user's manual. The model can be used to quantify the various types of costs involved in spent fuel transport and their relative contribution to the total cost and to estimate the sensitivity of the costs for shipment to changes in various cost elements and conditioins. The model is in Microsoft Excel spreadsheet form.

An Introduction to the Nuclear Fuel Cycle and Nuclear Safeguards\
By Donald R. Joy (198 pp)

Domestic $95.00, Foreign $115.00 (U.S. Dollars)
This is probably the first book to provide a basic and comprehensive overview of nuclear fuel cycle materials and processes, coupled with an extensive review of nuclear materials safeguards methodology. It provides an introduction into nuclear chain reactions, the nuclear fuel cycle, nuclear reactor operation, and other basic elements of the use of nuclear energy. It explains the need for the application of safeguards to nuclear activities and describes the various elements of safeguards systems -- covering nuclear material control and accountability, physical protection systems and response, measurements and measurement control, statistics, physical inventories, item control and monitoring, regulatory systems, and nuclear non-proliferation. The author has over 40 years of experience in the nuclear industry, including 20 years with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and has been involved in safeguards-related activities most of that time. This book is a valuable reference book and training tool. Hardbound textbook format with 138 pages of text, and 50 pages of appendices, ISBN: 0-9676513-0-1.
